About Ambassador Vseviov
Ambassador Vseviov, who also served as Secretary for Defense, has served as Estonia’s ambassador to the United States since August 2018. He brings extensive experience in defense policy, cybersecurity, technology, NATO-EU political and military cooperation, and issues related to Russia and the Arctic. His home country of Estonia, a world leader in technology, considers itself as a digital society, offering its citizens online services for activities like voting and offering e-residency to people
all over the globe. Vseviov worked at the Estonian Ministry of Defense for 10 years, serving as Secretary for Defense, Undersecretary for Defense Planning, and Director of Policy Planning. During his tenure at the defense ministry, Vseviov had a leading role in shaping Estonia’s defense policy, both domestically and abroad. He is the author of the Concept for Comprehensive Approach to Defense (2009) and the National Defense Strategy of 2010, documents that led to significant conceptual change in

Looking for Support from the Office of Career & Student Development?
The Office of Career and Student Development provides support and advice in multiple ways. To determine how we can best assist you, we have created this
handy checklist.
Do hours completed at internships, externships or residency placements count as pro bono? It depends. If you receive academic credit or any financial compensation, including public interest stipends, then no. Hours completed for a residency placement, class clinic, or
externship which exceed the number of required hours and meet the elements of pro bono, may count toward pro bono hours. Additional questions? Email probono@elon.edu.
