You are invited to participate in the spring term online Elon Law Writing Boot Camp on Friday, May 1, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. You can participate for any amount of time your schedules permit. While we
can't offer you lunch or a guaranteed quiet space, we can offer a little bit of unobtrusive structure to help you work successfully through the day and leave the camp with concrete achievements. We will also mail you a little swag, which means we need a good mailing address for you. We also plan a virtual drawing for a gift card. Professor Liemer will be available all day to take your questions through the WebEx chat function. Other LMC professors and
Writing Coach K. will join as their schedules permit:
Sara Ochs—10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Marissa Meredith—12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
John Cook—2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
Vanessa Zboreak—Midday
Janet Keefer 10:00—10:30 a.m. and sporadically thereafter
Here are the guidelines for the boot camp. You may access these, as well, thru the Writing Lab TWEN SITE and they will be posted during the boot camp.
Ground Rules
Log on by clicking below starting at 10:00 a.m.
Leave your video on but your mic off during the work time.
Create a list of tasks you want to complete during the camp.
Allot 50-minute blocks of time for each item.
Stick to your schedule, and check off each item as you finish, or make a note to yourself if you need to revisit it after you complete some of your other tasks. The idea to for you to see a big task growing smaller and smaller.
Stand up and move around whenever you hear the professor announce break times every 50 minutes.
Repeat the pattern throughout the day.
Before you log out for the day, list the next steps you must take to finish your project.
