What counts as pro bono? (Scroll down to "What Counts as Pro Bono")

How do I report my hours? (Click on "Report Your Hours.")

Hours must be reported no later than six months after the pro bono service was completed.

Do hours completed at internships, externships or residency placements count as pro bono? It depends. If you receive academic credit or any financial compensation, including public interest stipends, then no. Hours completed for a residency placement, class clinic, or externship which exceed the number of required hours and meet the elements of pro bono, may count toward pro bono hours. Join us for the 2021 4ALL (Virtual)

Statewide Service Day

The 14th annual 4ALL Statewide Day of Service will take place Friday, March 5, in a virtual format using an online phone service accessible via website or mobile app. Law student volunteers will participate remotely from the safety and comfort of their own homes or offices. Volunteers can expect to receive 5-10 calls an hour. More information and training materials are available here.

Volunteers are most needed for the 3 – 5 p.m. and 5 – 7 p.m. shifts.

4ALL (Virtual) Statewide Day of Service Details

Incoming calls the 4ALL will be screened by volunteer law student call screeners and forwarded to attorneys best able to answer the caller's questions.

To learn more information and to register to volunteer for 4ALL, please visit ncbarfoundation.org/4ALL. You'll receive a registration confirmation email from Eventbrite. If you need to change or cancel your registration, you may do so through the link provided in your confirmation email. We welcome volunteers to serve for multiple shifts; you may stay logged in to the 4ALL phone system for as long as you are willing to serve on March 5.
